Looking for a designer shoe for women?

During these years at the helm of Dalmatán , I have detected something curious.

Many women look for designer shoes , but each has a different idea of what that means.

  • For some, a designer shoe means that it was created by a famous designer.

  • For others, it represents an exclusive, limited-edition model that is not manufactured in large quantities and that few people can afford.

  • And for some, a designer shoe is synonymous with craftsmanship , because every detail has been worked on by hand and that already makes it special.

However, they all agree on one thing : they are looking for something different .

They don't want to walk down the street and see the exact same shoes on hundreds of people's feet.

That's precisely the philosophy behind Dalmatán. Even if any of the models are repeated, there will always be variations in design, fit, colors, fabrics, and linings, making each pair unique.

And along with that, there are models that are made just a few and then disappear. And then there are no more.

However, what few people see is that behind these types of designer shoes there is a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes...

The process behind every designer women's shoe

Designing a shoe is not simply drawing it and producing it.

Each model goes through multiple phases until it reaches its final version.

It is a process that requires time and a lot of patience.

And this is also what differentiates the big brands—who make large series in large factories in China—from an exclusive brand of designer shoes for women.

This is how a Dalmatan shoe is born:

  1. Hand-designed: Each model begins with a sketch on paper
  2. Tracing and digitizing: The motif is designed on our pattern in several different sizes
  3. Fitting: The design is printed to ensure that the embroidery fits perfectly.
  4. Choosing colors: A key step, as threads can vary in shade depending on the dye. Several options are tested until the perfect one is found.
  5. Once embroidered, it is reviewed one by one and the threads are cut, a very manual task that is essential in embroidery.
  6. Selection of materials: Fabrics, linings, materials and soles are selected, ensuring comfort and quality.
  7. First sample: A test unit is manufactured to evaluate details such as fit, strength, and aesthetics.
  8. Corrections and refinements: Adjustments are made to the last, materials, or embroidery until the final version is achieved.
  9. Final production: Only when everything is perfect, it is manufactured in limited quantities to maintain exclusivity.

This process can take months , and each design is a unique challenge . But the result is a completely different shoe.

What do other brands do?

Nowadays, many brands are opting for faster and cheaper solutions, such as computer-printing patterns onto fabric . It's easier and much faster, but the results aren't the same.

Others also choose to use rolls of pre-embroidered fabric and assemble shoes from it. This also saves many steps in the process.

But all of this has nothing to do with creating a design and bringing it to life pattern by pattern on each shoe.

Why is embroidery so special in shoe design?

  • It adds relief and depth , something that a flat print will never achieve.
  • It reflects the essence of craftsmanship and exclusivity . Each thread is a key element in the design.
  • It sets the shoe apart from the rest of the market . It's not just a simple shoe, but a miniature work of textile art .
  • The shine and texture of the embroidery captures attention , adding sophistication and elegance.

Embroidered shoes are not just an accessory, but an expression of style and craftsmanship.

Each pair is the result of a meticulous process where design and tradition meet.

It's not just about fashion, it's about wearing something unique, designed and created for those who value difference.
